Facebook & Relationship Reminders

I've been thinking about strategies that social media company's put into place to keep us on their platform. Specifically I've been thinking about Facebook & relationship reminders. They are very good at reminding us about the past by using a variety of strategies to keep us engaged and active. What do you think about how they try to keep us on their platform? On This Day Once a day every day I get a notification of my posts from previous years. I happen to enjoy these posts. Online Relationships – Are They Important?

I've always known that social media was a great way to connect to people I already knew. I didn't realize how great it was going to be to meet people I didn't know yet. As you know I moved to Portland about a year and half ago and that's when it really started to happen for me. I volunteered as the Social Media Manager for WordCamp Portland and I have met so many great people because of that one act. It was a stepping stone to really build online relationships through social media. Needless to say I have built friendships that I truly am thankful for. (more…)

I am thankful for that invite from Bridget Willard because it's a FANTASTIC resource! I have learned so much from participating in a tweetchat. How Did I Get Here

It's been a long winding road as an adult to make money and keep my artsy side alive. How did I get here? How It Began I found web development purely by accident. I was working at Sun Microsystems as an administrator. Managing schedules, creating presentations, event planning etc... when my manager challenged me to find something new to add to my skill sets.
